We are proud of our team at Home Services Unlimited. Every one of our employees works toward fulfilling the mission that HSU has always had: to provide the best home health care available by treating each patient as an individual, with respect and compassion, in a home of the patient’s choosing.
WE ARE HOME HEALTH CARE EXPERTS…
Home Services Unlimited has a staff with a wide range of expertise, allowing us to better develop and execute personalized plans of care. Our Director of Clinical Services, Director of Quality Improvement Services, Quality Assurance Coordinator and our President are four of over 20 nurses on staff. Our staff also includes Certified Nursing Aides, Certified Home Health Aides, Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists, a Medical Social Worker, Medical Records Clerks, a Patient Care Coordinator, a Community Liaison and a Wound Care Specialist. This array of professionals allows flexibility in tailoring a care plan to each individual client for excellent client outcomes. We are also able to offer services that most other agencies simply cannot.
Some of the services that most other agencies do not offer are:
Intrathecal pumps – Intrathecal pumps use computer technology to deliver pain medications directly to the body, in lower doses than would be needed in oral medication. They have been shown to manage pain at least as well as oral medication, while significantly reducing side effects, such as drowsiness, nausea and constipation.
Tele-health Monitoring – Tele-health services use technology to allow us to remotely assist people through the use of home monitoring units. Though we are not reimbursed for this technology through Medicare, we will gladly provide these services at our cost, as part of an overall plan of care. For more information, please visit our FAQ.
Anodyne Therapy – We are one of only three area home health care organizations to offer anodyne therapy. Anodyne therapy is the use of infrared light for pain management and to speed the healing of wounds, injuries and surgeries. This non-invasive procedure is also an excellent treatment for diabetic peripheral neuropathy. As with Tele-health, we can bundle this treatment in as part of a comprehensive plan of care, even though we do not receive reimbursement for the procedure. WE ARE EXPERIENCED…
Over 95% of our professional staff have at least 5 years of experience. On average, though, our professional staff have 15 years of experience. The head of our company, Etelka Froymovich, has 34 years of experience as an R.N. Our experience provides the know-how to guide the company toward and beyond our clients’ expectations of excellent, patient-centered care.
WE ARE WELL-TRAINED…
All of our staff are thoroughly trained to ensure the provision of consistently superior service. Upon hiring, all new staff participate in a job shadowing orientation to be certain that they understand what is expected of them. Our Certified Home Health Aides undergo 80 hours of classroom training and 12 hours of inservices annually to keep their skills up to date. Nursing personnel attend regular inservices to keep their skills up to date.
WE ARE CARING AND COMPASSIONATE…
Though our staff is experienced, well-trained and skilled across the board, what we are most proud of is the caring touch our personnel bring to the job. Our employees work in home health care because they enjoy working with individual clients and making a difference in someone’s life, without the client having to leave their homes.
At our agency, we have hands-on supervisors who meet regularly with employees to share their visions and goals for the agency, the employees and our clients. Our President is personally involved in selecting employees who will fit well with HSU and she is also involved in training the employees and even visiting clients herself, when necessary.
From the moment a prospective employee walks in the door, we view him or her as a potential addition to our team that must be carefully evaluated. Etelka interviews all potential employees to understand how they see their role in a patient’s care and to explain what our vision is. Our employees understand that every client is different and we ask them to think in terms of “What would you want for your loved one?”
WE ARE LIKE FAMILY…
Our employees share a common goal: providing excellent, patient-centered health care in the comfort of a client’s home. How is it that over 200 employees have the same goal? In an industry where employee turnover is notoriously high, we are known for our high retention rate. We understand that it is our responsibility to keep our employees happy by treating them with respect, dignity and compassion, exactly how we expect them to treat our clients. Our employees are part of the same professional family and we understand that it takes that personal touch to create strong relationships between supervisors, clients, field staff and the company’s leadership.
